SEPTEMBER WEDDINGS

The last weekend of September was sunny and, for the time of the year, very warm. So much so that a high factor sun screen was essential! I had the great pleasure of being Toastmaster at three lovely Weddings.

During July I had officiated at Hylands House, Chelmsford, Essex for the Wedding of Carly and Richard Patient. That, too, was a great day and enjoyed by all those who celebrated the day with Carly & Richard. It was then that I met Elise Wright (Bridesmaid) and her fiance Tom Fleetwood. We got on very well
and I had my photograph taken with Elise and when she e mailed me a copy she enquired if I might be available for her own wedding in September at Braxted Park, Witham, Essex. Fortunately I was and so on the 25th September 2009 I attended their wedding.

Arriving a little earlier than normal, I met many of the wedding party as they were staying at Braxted and had just finished getting ready for the day.The grounds at Braxted Park were in superb condition. Whilst carrying out my ´checks´ with the catering team I was offered a cup of tea - in return for a donation to the Manager´s favourite charity - McMillan - a very worthy cause!

The ceremony ran very smoothly which included readings that were beautifully read. After the ceremony Elise & Tom went to the front of the house for photographs whilst I invited the guests to assemble on the steps for the group photograph before the confetti shot.

I knew a number of guests from previous Weddings so it was something of a re-union and I really enjoyed being with them all again.

The photographer on the day was Jo Curtis Photographer, Barret & Coe and this was the first time that we had worked together at a Wedding. Jo was kind enough to provide this photograph. Richard Knight of Your Perfect Day was the videographer and we have worked at weddings before at Fanhams Hall Hotel, Ware, Herts amongst other venues.

Silver Sparks Disco - resident DJ at Braxted Park - played background music until the evening was to get underway which began with Elise throwing her bouquet before she and Tom started their first dance as Mr. & Mrs. Fleetwood.Shortly after the start of the dancing ´Top Hat´ took over from Silver Sparks and royally entertained everyone.

Having finished my duties for the evening I met some of the evening guests including Carly´s Mum & Dad.
A very happy day.
