" We would just like to express our very grateful thanks for all your support and expertise at Claire & Aaron´s Wedding on 7th June. We all had a fantastic day, and were delighted on the smooth running of everything, which was helped largely by yourself keeping things together and, somehow, making up time when we were behind schedule. Thank you so very much once again. Judith & John Ireland "

"I would really like to thank you for making our wedding day so special and I cannot express how important the part was that you played in making our wedding a day to remember, not just for Terry and I but for our guests too. From the very beginning of the day, you were there supporting us and made it your priority to keep the day running smoothly. You could tell how nervous I was when I got to Ye Olde Plough House and went and got me a glass of water whilst I had to wait in my car. Your reassurances stopped me from looking like a sobbing, nervous mess when I walked down the aisle!!! Once again, thank you so much. Caroline Collins"

" From the minute I stepped out of the wedding car there you were with everything under control. The guests were waiting and you helped everyone to be where they needed to be. The wedding took place and from then on you did an absolutely fantastic job of keeping everything to the set time schedule, not only with us but with the Hotel Manager as well as the Photographer and Videographer too. I just also want to mention that the thing that kept us going through all the photographs being taken and the aching cheek bones was you appearing after each set of photographs with a full glass of wine for us. Just what we needed! We just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for everything you did. All our guests kept commenting all night and for days afterwards of how great you were and how well everything went.
I would recommend to anyone thinking of having a Toastmaster to definitely have one and to let it be Ted Prior. You did us proud. We will recommend you to anyone who needs a fantastic Toastmaster -Master of Ceremonies. "

" I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your wonderful efforts on our wedding day. We are so pleased as to how well the wedding day went and I cannot thank you enough as it was down to you keeping us organised (and sane) on the day. If anyone is in any doubt as to whether to hire a Toastmaster for a function such as a wedding I'd highly recommend that they do, especially larger scale weddings when you need to keep control of the guests!!! Many of my guests have commented how wonderful you were. Your role played such a bigger part in the day than I imagined, from keeping my guests amused whilst I was running late, walking my mum down the aisle, flattering the grannies, making sure the heating was just right and even giving Chris advise on his speech before the big day - that's just to mention a few things. Ted thank you once again for all your help, you helped to make our wedding day the most wonderful day in our lives and added to all the fantastic memories. Oh and thanks again for hiding Chris's surprise presents before he saw them! Ted we really can't thank you enough and I will be passing your details on to anyone I possibly can! Thanks once again "

" Last October, Rob and I were fortunate to meet you at the wedding fare at Ye Olde Plough House in Bulphan. As we passed by, your cheery face drew us to you and you asked us if we had set a date for our wedding. Having just returned from our holiday (where Rob had proposed) we said that we would like to get married some time in either August/September 2008 but hadn't set a firm date as yet. You whipped out your diary and jokingly told us that if we wanted to book you as our Toastmaster, we would need to act fast as you had very few dates remaining during those months where you were available.
We then got in to a conversation with you where you and Rob exchanged stories of your days playing rugby-etc and you had us in fits of laughter. We wanted to you immediately - so much so, that when we spoke to the banqueting team at Ye Olde Plough House, and they told us we could hire the Monks Barn on Friday 26'1' September, our faces lit up as that was one of the few days that you were available. Whilst I stood and handed over details to the banqueting team, Rob ran back to you and we booked you on the spot!
During the run up to the wedding, you asked us to complete forms with our personal details, that gave you information about the main bridal party, but you also asked if we had any guests that would need special care or help on the big day. How thoughtful was that?
Then a few weeks before the wedding, we met to run through everything, refreshing and updating our requirements as we saw fit. You brought some helpful guidance notes for the men required to make speeches e.g. Father of the Bride, Best Men and of course the Bridegroom himself, as well as giving us a couple of options for grace and asking if we had remembered to include a toast to 'absent family and friends'. It was then that we gave you the sad news that my Nan had suddenly, and unexpectedly, died 5 months previous. You very kindly proffered to make a toast to her on our behalf, but at the time, I found it very difficult and asked you not to include anything in your speech. You did ask me to take some time to reflect and even suggested that Rob could include this special toast in his speech instead. I am glad that we followed your advice - Rob's toast to Nan was lovely and it is something that my grandfather cherished.
We really cannot thank you enough for all that you did for us leading up to the wedding, but most importantly, all that you did to make the day run smoothly. You carried my handbag (and was very comfortable doing so !), replenished our champagne glasses between photos, kept everyone in order and running to time, but most of all Ted our family and friends loved you. Even now, they are still talking about you - the jokes that you shared with them, the stories that you told at their tables etc.
It's funny how some people leave lasting impressions. As you know, Rob's Mum suffers with infracted dementia which often sees her losing her train of thought or not being able to remember much - even if it was only a few minutes ago. When talking to her on the phone the other evening, she asked Rob 'if he had seen the man in the red coat lately' !!!
So as you can see Ted, you struck a big chord with us and if anyone was to ask if it was worth booking a Toastmaster, we would tell them it is essential and then pass them your phone number.
Once again Ted, thank you for helping us to have the best day of our lives. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas, and a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year. With warm regards "

Paula and Robin Gray. 26th September 2008

" Thank you so much for everything that you did at our Wedding on the 20th August. We really enjoyed your company and you were very professional and efficient at all times. You also were extremely popular with all our guests who have been commenting ever since how good you were! We will certainly recommend you to any of our friends who get married."

" Ted Prior officiated as toastmaster at our venue on 16th July 2005 for a combined wedding ceremony and reception. He did so extremely competently and with a pleasing manner, which made him very popular with both the Hop Farm staff and the Bridal party. We were all very pleased with the way he conducted himself on the day, being friendly, helpful and extremely professional, and we will be delighted to welcome him here to officiate again in the future.
